PicPay, 2022
PicPay is one of the largest financial ecosystems in Brazil, with more than 34 million active users. The app allows users to carry out a variety of financial transactions, such as money transfers between accounts, payments, purchase of urban transport credits and even payments in physical stores via QR code. The PicPay Card is the card offered by PicPay, with debit and credit options, and also with the option to generate a virtual card, in addition to offering a free additional card.
Reevaluating and redesigning the PicPay Card layout is essential to ensure its adaptability to future developments. We need to ensure that the structure is flexible enough to continually expand services and add new features, keeping up with major banking competitors. Furthermore, we seek to increase user satisfaction, making the experience with PicPay Card even more intuitive and pleasant.
We know that the Home Card is the heart of all the card's features, but we admit that its settings screen is a little confusing.
We have the intuition that we are not giving enough emphasis to what really matters and we wonder if adding communication spaces on the Home Card would be useful for everyone. We're thinking about redesigning the layout for the future so we can add new features easily. We're also planning to make settings more convenient and create a Home Card that highlights only the things that matter most to users.
We don't want to stand still, continuing as is or adding features without thinking. And of course, let's make sure there's always a little breathing room in the user experience.
The time came when I shared all the information with the team and we discussed some findings and insights together.
• I presented the benchmark
• Showed desk research data
• Aligned on what metrics we would use to understand product performance
• And together we created a new CSD matrix
Some information was hidden to preserve the confidentiality of sensitive data.
I performed a comprehensive data analysis to identify the features that were most accessed by users, with the aim of understanding which features made the most sense for our experience. This thorough analysis provided valuable insights that guided our design and development decisions, ensuring our efforts were aligned with users' needs and preferences.
I identified a significant challenge in our previous user flow, characterized by duplicate accesses and irrelevant highlighted elements, 'Refer a Friend' and 'Help', which did not receive due attention, as indicated by our studies. A review was needed to eliminate redundancies and highlight only what really mattered, providing a more intuitive and user-centric experience. Furthermore, in this new user flow, I also anticipated new features.
During the process, there were several interactions with the design team, providing in-depth discussions and analyzes of the proposed solutions. This ongoing collaboration was essential to significant refinements and improvements to the project.
After a journey of exploration and iteration, I finally achieved an early prototype version. This milestone represents the result of diligent efforts, collaboration, and continuous learning throughout the development process.
This project represented an extremely valuable study for the entire team, providing opportunities for significant learning and growth. Each step of the process challenged us to expand our horizons, hone our skills and find innovative solutions. We are grateful for the experience and confident that the insights gained will drive us in future projects.
Several versions were designed and discarded throughout the process.
